Show Up
It’s so hard to predict when the holy spirit is gonna move in a really strong way, Sometimes it’s when you least expect it. Sometimes it’s when you are alone spending time meditating of God’s word. But then other times it happens with a large group of people in a church setting. Today was one of those day’s for me. I spoke on grace, and tried to my best ability to paint a picture of the culture in which Jesus lived. And i felt the presence of God so much, i felt like i wasn’t even speaking, i felt like i was there in the moment with everyone else who was standing in awe of God.
I must give a disclaimer though.
I knew last night in reading over my thoughts on the message that God was gonna move. And i came with great expectations, and great anticipation to what i knew would be a great gathering. I feel that we are always asking and looking for God to show up to our services. But the truth is, we are the ones who need to show up not God, He is already there, waiting on us. I feel that Gods spirit is always seeking to move dramatically in the hearts of His followers, the key is us. We must show up with great expectations, we must show up with the knowledge that God wants to do something amazing with and through us. And when that combination happens, when we finally do show up, and God’s presence is felt, and known, there is nothing like it. You almost just don’t want to leave.
I feel that it wouldn’t have mattered what i said this morning, because it was never about me it was about Him, and it was about us coming with the realization that we were going to truly have an encounter with the one true living God.
